Cassandra talks "Clockwork Prince"

The second book, Clockwork Prince, does, well, what I think of as the work of a second book in a trilogy — deepens the existing characters, really starts to twist up their relationships, starts a ticking clock on the whole enterprise — Charlotte is given a set amount of time to find the Magister before she loses the Institute to Benedict Lightwood — and reverses some expectations about character relationships while setting up everything for the grand denouement! Not a tall order or anything (it’s not for nothing they often say second books are the hardest.) All three books end on a piece of a dialogue, and the second book’s end is a bit of a cliffhanger, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. In both books, Will has to deal with his past, Jem has to deal with his future (or possible lack of one) and Tessa starts to discover what she really is.

Read the rest here

I'm really happy to see more of Jem and Tessa, even though most of Clockwork Angel is about the machines, Tessa's powers, Tessa and Will. Glad to read more about that.

Thanks to MI.net.
